SYP-5 type rake soot blower is a kind of telescopic soot blower, which is mainly used to purge the flue gas denitration device (SCR) of power station boiler. It is also widely used in the parts of small boiler such as fin tube economizer, tubular air preheater and some special boilers (such as waste heat boiler) where the flue gas temperature does not exceed 600°C.

The SYP-5 rake soot blower is a derivative of the SYC-5 series of long telescopic soot blowers. In terms of structure, except that the soot blowing pipe does not rotate and has different forms, and a rake type soot blowing gun pipe supporting and guiding mechanism is added accordingly, the structure, control mode and action principle of all other components are exactly the same as those of SYC-5 series long telescopic soot blowing.

The soot blowing pipe of rake type soot blower is commonly known as rake pipe, which is always placed in the flue gas and consists of main pipe and horizontal rake pipe. The horizontal rake pipe is equipped with multiple nozzles. Cross harrow tubes may be in one row, or in two, three or more rows. In the case of the same soot blowing stroke, the more rows of cross rake pipes, the larger the coverage area of soot blowing. During the expansion and contraction of the soot blower, the nozzles of different rake pipes blow different areas respectively, and the soot blowing area is often twice, three times or even more than the stroke. Since the total number and caliber of soot blower nozzles have certain requirements, the number of rows of cross harrow pipes is limited, generally 2 to 3 rows. Of course, if the cross harrow pipe is not long and there are not many nozzles on each row, the number of rows of cross harrow pipes can be increased.
